Infected Dead are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very brutal, brutal and visceral form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Archaic Malevolence" which will be released in December by Hostile Media.
A horror movie style intro starts off the ep before going into a heavier direction which also introduces guitar solos and leads that are very melodic as well demonstrating a great amount of talent of skill and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and high pitched screams while a decent amount of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and at times the growls get very guttural and at times the music gets very technical and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly.
Infected Dead plays a style of death metal that is very modern, brutal, visceral and technical sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Lovecraftian cosmic horror and occultism themes.
In my opinion Infected Dead are a very great sounding modern, brutal, technical and visceral death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Invocation Of Unspeakable Gods" and "Samsara". 8 out of 10.
