Coraxo are a band from Finland that plays an electronic form of death metal that also brings in elements of black metal, industrial, jazz and prog and this is a review of their 2015 album "Neptune" which was released by Massacre Records.
A symphonic sound starts off the album bringing in a touch of ambient and after the intro the music brings in elements of industrial and electronic music along with the music getting more heavy along with some blast beats and high pitched screams that also bring in a touch of black metal and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Melodies can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the solos and leads also bring in a great amount of melody and the riffs are also very influenced by death metal and as the album moves on elements of progressive rock and jazz which also introduces saxophones on the recording are utilized a lot more in the songs and the vocals also bring in a decent amount of growls.
Coraxo plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in progressive death metal but also mixes in industrial, electronic music, jazz and a touch of black metal to create an original style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover science fiction themes.
In my opinion Coraxo are a very great sounding electronic death metal band with elements of black metal, industrial, jazz and prog and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lanterns" "The Citadel" "Symbiosis" and "Ghosts". 8 out of 10.
