Among Rats are a band from Austria that plays a mixture of brutal death metal and grindcore and this is a review of t heir 2013 album "Intact World" which was released by Rebirth The Metal Productions.
"Infection" begins with begins with some heavy bass and rhythm guitars which then start adding in some drums as well as a brief use of blast beats before slowing down again and adding in some death metal growls and melodic riffing in some parts as well as switching back and forth between slow and fast throughout the song.
"Admit The Cruelty" starts off with fast guitar riffs, blast beats, screams and growls and then switching back and forth between slow and fast parts along with some powerful bass guitars.
"Infected By Rats" begins with some fast grindcore guitar and bass riffs and drumming before slowing down and adding in some growls and after awhile it starts getting real fast again along with some blast beats.
"As Black As Night" begins with some fast guitar riffs and blast beats which lead to some deep growls along with some grindcore style riffing with a brief high pitched scream and the song slows down towards the end.
:Blood Boil" begins with some slow guitar riffs and drums before getting faster and adding in growls and blast beats along with some powerful bass guitars and then t he song starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Death For Sure" begins with some heavy and melodic guitar riffs along with some bass guitars and drums which lead to some growls and the music getting alot faster.
"Snow Covered" begins with some primitive guitar riffs, growls and blast beats before slowing down and adding in some powerful bass guitars and then switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and a dding in some melody.
"Human Dignity Rape" begins with some fast grindcore guitar riffs, drums and growls before the song starts switching back and forth between slow and fast parts as well as utilizing some blast beats and higher pitched vocals.
"Hit, Spit, Split" begins with fast guitar riffs and drums which lead to some growls and screams and then t he song goes into a slower direction for a few seconds before going back to being fast.
"Trained To Drill" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums and then going into a faster direction with some growls and bass guitars before slowing down.and then switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Intact World" begins with some heavy guitar and bass riffs which lead to some drums and growls and then going into a faster direction with some blast beats and high pitched screams.
"Crazy Scientist" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some guitar leads before going into a faster direction along with some growls before going into a slower direction and then switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and after awhile the bass guitars get louder along with a brief spoken word sample.
"Asylum Et Delirium" begins with heavy guitar riffs, growls and drums and as the song moves on there is a brief use of screams before going into a faster direction and adding in some blast beats before switching back and forth between slow and fast parts along with some melody being thrown into the riffing.
"Money Kills" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums before the vocals kick in and the song adds in some fast parts.
"The Forsaken" begins with blast beats and fast guitar riffs which leads to some growls, powerful bass guitars and the song switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and adding melody in some parts.
Song lyrics cover violence, gore and hateful themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on t his recording.
In my opinion Among Rats are a very great sounding hybrid of death metal and grindcore and if you are of this musical genre, you should check out t his band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Infection" "As Black As Night" "Crazy Scientist" and "Money Kills". RECOMMENDED BUY.
