One Man Army And The Undead Quartet/The Dark Epic/Massacre Records/2011 CD Review

One Man Army And The Undead Quartet are a band from Sweden that mixes melodic death metal with thrash and this is a review of their 2011 album "The Dark Epic" which was released by Massacre Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with alot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone which is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffs that combine death metal with thrash and are very melodic at times but concetrates more on being brutal and on one song there is a small amount of soft playing being utilized, while the lead guitars are a mixture of chaotic and melodic guitar solos that take influences from both thrash and death metal with a technical edge, as for the classical guitars which are only used briefly on one song, they have a very dark and tragic sound to them.

Vocals are a mixture of high pitched melodic death metal screams and deep death metal growls, while the lyrics touch on horror, torture, religion, satanic and hateful topics, as for the production, it has a very heavy, powerful, and professional sound to it.

In my opinion One Man Army And The Undead Quartet are a very good and aggressive modern day death/thrash band, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Inside The Had Of God" "The Pleasures Of Slavery" "Devil's Harlot" and "How I Love To Kill You". RECOMMENDED BUY.
