Nocturnus/E.P/Moribund Records/1994 CD Review

Nocturnus are a band from Florida that I would describe aatmospheric/progressive/blackened death metal and this is a review of their 1994 e.p which was released by Moribund Records.

Drums are very technical with alot of fast parts and brutal blast beats, while the keyboards sound very dark and give the music a very evil edge, as for the bass playing it is very fast riffs that follow the guitars and at times the instrument has a very powerful sound.

Rhythm guitars are mostly fast technical death metal riffs that have a small amount of thrash influences, while the lead guitars are very technical guitar solos that are very distorted and melodic sounding with alot of talent behind them.

Vocals are a mixture of high pitched and deep death metal growls with a blackened edge, while the lyrics are a mixture of anti christain and Egyptian occultism thmes, as for the production on this e.p it sounds very professional and you can her all of the instruments.

In My opinion Nocturnus where another great underrated band from the 90's and this is a very good e.p, if you are a fan of occult orientated amospheric album you should check this band out. RECOMMENDED BUY
