Abacinate/Genesis/Epitomite Records/2011 CD Review

Abacinate are a band from New jersey that plays brutal death metal with a grindcore edge and this is a review of their 2011 album "Genesis" which was released by Epitomite Records.

Drums alternate between midpaced to fast drumming with alot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful when the music slows down, and on the instrumental there are some very strong bass leads being utilized.

Rhythm guitars alternate between midpaced to fast brutal death metal riffs that also utilize influences from grindcore and thrash, while the lead guitars are very technical and melodic sounding death metal guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitcched grindcore screams being thrown in at times, while the lyrics cover death, vilence, self empowerment and hatred, as for the production it has a very heavy and powerful sound.

In my opinion Abacinate are a very original sounding brutal death metal band, and if you are a fan of this genre and looking for something different, you should check out this group. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Night Of the Desireable Objects" "Purveyors Of Scum" "The Natural Disasters" and "The Bundy Curse". RECEMMMONDED BUY.
